Since 2021…
Born from a father-daughter collaboration, Swan River Distillery emerged in 2021 as a creative venture blending Scott’s passion for craft distilling and Abby’s knack for design and flavor innovation. Together, they harnessed their unique strengths to create an exceptional range of artisanal spirits that resonate with their shared love of quality and creativity.
Scott’s experience with a handmade still led him to experiment with Australian native botanicals, developing a smooth and distinct gin profile that became the cornerstone of their range. Abby, with her flair for the sweeter side of life, balanced Scott’s classic dry gin sensibilities to ensure there’s something for every palate.
By 2021, the duo had turned their passion project into a full-fledged distillery. From designing labels and selecting bottles to refining recipes, they took a hands-on approach to every step of the journey. Starting as a small, urban distillery in Welshpool, they began at local farmers’ markets, quickly gaining recognition and expanding into bottle shops and bars across Perth.
In 2024, Swan River Distillery achieved a long-held dream by moving to a spacious new premises on the vibrant Vic Park strip, just 500 meters from the Swan River itself. This move marks an exciting new chapter, allowing Scott, Abby, and their team to grow their operations while staying connected to their roots.
Sustainability remains at the heart of everything Swan River Distillery does. From sourcing local and seasonal botanicals to minimizing waste in production, the team is committed to crafting their products with care for the environment. They’re proud to contribute to Perth’s eco-conscious culture, ensuring that their distilling practices honor both the land and the community.
Today, the distillery produces a diverse lineup of spirits that extends beyond gin and vodka to include absinthe, coffee liqueur, and a vibrant limoncello. With a cellar door, tasting room, and a dedicated team, Scott and Abby continue to push boundaries, crafting unique flavors that expand not just their palettes but those of their loyal customers.
